Wed., Sept. 29, 2021 | 9:00am-1:30pm
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is the most important place on the map of the Christian world. The tour will focus on its architectural history: how this complex was built, demolished, and rebuilt, without destroying the previous stages of construction.
the Holy Sepulcher was built in three major stages – in the 4th century, 11th century, and in the 12th century. The surprising thing is that the three stages are still clearly visible within the existing building. We will learn to recognize the different construction stages of the Holy Sepulchre complex, and why the building differs from its original medieval appearance.
